About the Team

Come help us build a next generation Smart TV experience. We are a new team of industry veterans developing Vizio's OS using both off-the-shelf components and greenfield development. If you are excited to have an impact on a platform that is still maturing, we want you to work with us.

What You Will Do

  • Help architect new OS services using both existing open source components and new development.
  • Design APIs/SDKs to be used by other teams, both internal and external to the company.
  • Help lead a team through design, implementation, testing, and delivery of new features.
  • Mentor other team members.
  • Gain a deep understanding of our existing systems and the requirements for moving forward.

About You

  • You are excited to have an impact on a platform that is still maturing.
  • You respect the institutional knowledge stored in legacy code, but aren't afraid to replace it when needed.
  • You know when to use an existing solution and when to build something new.
  • You are able to gather and define requirements without having them handed to you.
  • You have patience when working with people of all skill levels.
  • You build up those around you.
  • Your ego isn't tied to your technical decisions.
  • You pay attention to the edge cases, evaluating how a design might break.
  • 8+ years of experience working with Linux systems
  • Experience with systems programming in C/C++ or Rust.
  • Experience with at least one high level language, preferably Python.
  • Experience working with modern build systems.
  • Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
