About the Team

VIZIO’s Finance & Accounting team is seeking an Accounting Manager for its headquarter in Irvine, California. The Accounting Manager will focus on the VIZIO Device Business to support the accounting of the device business supply chain. This role requires an experienced, collaborative accounting professional with strong leadership and people management skills to work our internal and external supply chain network. This position will report directly to the Senior Manager, Accounting for the Company’s Device segment.


What You Will Do

  • Responsible for General Accounting for the Device Business, including, but not limited to:
    • Revenue recognition, reconciliation, and reporting
    • Hiring, training, development of Accounting Team members
    • Management and measurement of day-to-day performance to expectations
    • Communicating, reviewing, and tracking KPIs, dashboards, and analytics to measure and improve performance
  • Ensure accuracy in the month-end close process. Specifically, ensuring monthly journals are recorded accurately, G.L. accounts are correctly and timely reconciled, and related monthly financial analyses are performed. In addition, variances noted while reconciling accounts must be properly investigated and documented.
  • Conduct a detailed monthly review of all balance sheet accounts assigned, escalating any significant issues to help mitigate financial risk for the company
  • Track Logistics claims and settlement across our suppliers and channels
  • Assess the Company’s current General Ledger Accounting policies and procedures, ensure such P&Ps are adequate and propose recommendations for improvement when necessary.
  • Ensure policies and procedures about General Ledger Accounting are executed in ways that are consistent with U.S. GAAP and company policies.
  • Manage performance & related issues and lead process evolution, harmonization & efficiencies
  • Foster a strong customer service culture to ensure a quality service is delivered internally
  • Manages and administers controls and compliance, assists with both internal and external audits to ensure complete, timely, and accurate responses to information requests.
  • Partner with internal departments such as Corporate and B.U. Finance, Treasury, and Tax
  • Verify all entries are made in accordance with GAAP, and any specific contractual terms
  • Define, Implement, execute and support process improvement and change management to share best practices across departments and organization
  • Assist with exceptional accounting and business-related projects as requested


About You

  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, various I.T. systems
  • Ability to multi-task and manage numerous simultaneous priorities
  • High energy, ownership of work and dedication and commitment to driving results
  • Must be a good team leader and team player
  • Bachelor’s degree required; concentration in Accounting or Finance required; MBA degree or candidate preferred
  • CPA license and public experience preferred (Big 4)
  • Experience in Consumer Electronics and Ad Sales, Media and Entertainment industry a plus
  • 8+ years of accounting experience
  • 3+ years of management experience; corporate setting experience preferred
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Technical knowledge or experience with a solid understanding of GAAP; IFRS experience preferred
  • Strong technical skills, with Excel capabilities
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, exercising good judgment.
  • Ability to handle conflict and resolve uncomfortable situations
