About the Team

VIZIO's dynamic Business Development Team is looking for a Senior Manager, Business Development who will work closely with business leadership to identify, scope, negotiate and establish partnerships with media, internet, technology, and gaming companies to support the company's connected-TV ecosystem.


In this critical role, you will help evolve VIZIO's SmartCast platform in terms of the breadth of content, partnership uniqueness, and financial impact on the overall VIZIO organization. You will be required to handle multiple high priority deals simultaneously and effectively negotiate value-added business terms.


The Senior Manager, Business Development will be tasked with telling the VIZIO Story to content partners and ensuring they understand the company's strategic direction. As part of this effort, you will frequently interface directly with media & tech executives from the biggest companies in the world. You must be comfortable presenting to C-level executives and can think quickly, decisively, and proactively while representing VIZIO's business interests.


The successful candidate will be comfortable dealing with highly technical subject matter and managing ambiguity resulting from working in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must have prior knowledge of emerging digital media platforms (bonus points given to candidates with connected-TV backgrounds), and experience with multiple business models such as ad-support and subscription-based.


Successful candidates will work cross-functionally with internal engineering, product, and marketing teams to evaluate and drive adoption of VIZIO's SmartCast platform by leading media companies. This task will require a deep understanding of the media industry, research, creative deal-making, and superior negotiation skills. What You Will Do

  • Identify, evaluate, negotiate, and manage partnerships and content licensing deals that drive competitive advantage and customer enjoyment and support VIZIO's strategic digital objectives
  • Evaluate the economic and strategic costs and benefits of proposed deals and work with company leaders across all functional areas of VIZIO to execute on the relationships
  • Work closely with internal engineering, product, and marketing teams to evaluate and drive SmartCast adoption among top media partners
  • Assist in developing a deal strategy, incorporating financial analysis, research input, and stakeholder requirements 10

About You

  • You have earned a bachelor’s degree or have equivalent practical work experience.
  • You have 7+ years of experience in business development or account management, preferably in technology, entertainment or other fast moving business sectors.
  • You have both a business and technical background.
  • You have demonstrated experience in a client/external facing role.
  • You have experience in both the hardware and software industries, CTV a plus.
  • You have expert level skills with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • You have excellent cross-functional leadership skills.
  • You possess clear written and oral communication skills.
  • You have experience with account management and negotiating contracts including initial engagement, renewals and amendments aimed at revenue or technical initiatives.
  • You have demonstrated experience with reporting and analytics (usage trends, marketing insights, revenue).
  • You have great project management & consultative skills.
