About the Team

The Business Development team at VIZIO is looking for a Director of Business Development, Partnership Management to join us. 

What You Will Do

In this role, you will lead the BD Partnership Management & Success team in providing account management pre and post-deal close: including on-boarding, content usage insights, and revenue optimization, as well as overseeing deal renewals and extensions with existing partners.  You’ll be working across our standalone applications and our content licensing partners for FAST and AVOD content. You and your team will act as a conduit between business and technical teams to ensure clear communication of priorities and challenges.  You’ll be acting as a trusted advisor to ensure partners’ confidence in VIZIO SmartCast and our ability to deliver best-in-class products and experiences. 

 

From within the Business Development team, you will be the face of VIZIO to our content partners ensuring alignment across multi-functional areas (e.g. engineering, finance, marketing, analytics, etc.).  In this position, you will work hand in hand with key stakeholders and serve as a cross-functional liaison to lead partnership initiatives and manage multiple touch points.

  

You will build strong relationships with VIZIO’s content partners, and through proactive management and regular conversations, you’ll ensure that our content partners are satisfied with their onboarding experience and ongoing engagement across the VIZIO teams.  This will also include formal meetings to review performance and strategic initiatives in the form of Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and other updates.

 

The role will engage with content partners and internal stakeholders to create strategic initiatives aimed to increase SmartCast usage and monetization. 

 

This diverse set of responsibilities requires a deep understanding of the partner’s business, content offering, and KPIs/goals, as well as the ability to paint a clear and compelling vision around how we will work collaboratively to drive great results.  The ideal candidate will have a passion for partnerships, data, and monetization.

 

  • Manage partner relationship including facilitating onboarding efforts, regular updates on usage, tech requirements and revenue after launch
  • Interface between the BD team, VIZIO internal engineering and product teams, and external content partner teams
  • Optimize partner revenue and provide forecasting insight through revenue model (e.g. SVOD, TVOD, AVOD) and additional opportunities (e.g. app placement, buttons, referrals to Endemic ad campaigns, product monetization features)
  • Identify, design, plan and implement partnership strategic initiatives (e.g. product promotions, on-device promotions, VIZIO exclusives for content, etc.)
  • Create strategic account management plans for apps, AVOD, and FAST partners
  • Manage deal renewals

 

This is a full-time position based in Irvine, CA, and reports to the VP of Business Development.

About You

Required Qualifications: 

  • A minimum education level of Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years in business development or account management, preferably in technology, entertainment or fast moving business sectors
  • 5+ years in deal negotiation
  • Both business and technical backgrounds required
  • Experience in a client/external facing role leading a team of customer service/client success/support personnel
  • Experience in both the hardware and software industries; CTV a plus
  • Expert in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent cross-functional leadership skills
  • Clear written and oral communication

Preferred Qualifications (if applicable):

  • Experience with account management and negotiating contracts including initial engagement, renewals and amendments aimed at revenue or technical initiatives
  • Experience with reporting and analytics (usage trends, marketing insights, revenue)
  • Experience with project management and consulting to identify, implement and manage strategic initiatives
